๐๐ The Classroom of the Future Workshop
Welcome to a space where the boundaries of reality are pushed and innovation meets education. This immersive 5-day workshop, spanning across 2.5 weeks from February 23 to March 9, 2023, unfolds in the dynamic environment of the Architectural Design V-VI Studio at Istanbul Technical University.
Under the expertise of Begum Moralioglu and Prof. Dr. Leman Figen Gรผl with the help of Res. Asst. Burak Delikanlฤฑ, participants will embark on a journey to envision and create "The Classroom of the Future", exploring how Extended Reality (XR) technologies can shape the learning spaces of tomorrow.
The workshop dives into the potential of XR technologies such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality. Participants will dissect the challenges in the current classroom setups and the transformative potential of XR in overcoming them. The course further encourages them to imagine how XR can influence the spatial design of future classrooms, and guides them in creating a captivating video that brings their vision to life.
This workshop is structured into five intensive sessions that combine theoretical knowledge, practical assignments, group discussions, and hands-on video production. Whether it's understanding the design principles for XR or sketching the vision of future classrooms, each day offers a unique learning experience.
By the end of the course, participants will not only have a comprehensive understanding of XR technologies and their role in future education but also a compelling video that encapsulates their vision of the future classroom.
Materials and devices like computers, HoloLens2, HoloLens1, Meta Quest2, Oculus Rift, Magic Leap, NReal Air, and video editing software will be available for the creative exploration.
